CANTON MARATHON IS DEDICATED TO PHILANTHROPY

The Canton Marathon, along with other charitable organizations, has several ways to help our community grow healthier and stronger.

MISSION

The purpose of Canton Marathon, Inc. is to provide resources to help foster and promote the importance of health and wellness for all citizens in Stark County and to educate youth of Stark County concerning the correlation and long term effects of obesity and juvenile diabetes by providing children’s programming to organizations and civic organizations associated with Stark County youth.

OFFICIAL CHARITY PARTNERS

Canton Marathon has identified a select group of official charity partners for the inaugural event. These charities will receive a percentage of every registration fee that designates them as the participant's choice. When registering for a Canton Marathon event, you will be directed to the opportunity to choose your cause. Participants do not have to do anything other than select a charity to benefit from the registration fee. You may be contacted by the group you choose becaue they'll want to say thank you.

CHARITY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Organizations like churches, clubs, civic groups and more can help our athletes experience a first class event by signing up to operate water and aid stations, provide entertainment on the course and build cheering sections.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

In addition to the Official Charity Partner Program, Canton Marathon, Inc. is an IRS-recognized, tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions to Canton Marathon, Inc. are tax deductible.  Established non-profit organizations that provide programming specific to the health and wellness of our youth may apply for grants from the official Canton Marathon philanthropy fund. The fund will be administered by the Stark Community Foundation and funds will be awarded beginning in 2013. More information and grant applications will be available at a later date.
